Website Idea

Post by Monroe »

Alright so I was thinking back when I used to play a game called Star Kingdoms, no clue if its still running, and I got to thinking, damn it would be nice to make a game like that.

Now I don't have the programing expertise to do so, but it would be fun to have something similiar to that on this site. Where everyone who wants to play makes up or chooses a race to play.

You can expand your Empire by colonizing worlds which costs energy reserves (since Trek is a Marxist moneyless universe). You then grow a population. Every turn, or hour things like population is adjusted.

You can also build say 5 types of ships each with its own speed, attack, and defense points. You can harass your neighbors with fast attack ships or send in weaker ones.

Battles that are fought grant land as rewards. You then come in custody of the land and population. Liquidating a captured population means that they are turned into energy units.

So basically the game would be a civlization type game where you build and expand. We can even work with monthly storylines and alliances will eventually start. These alliances will lead to massive wars where billions of lives are up for grabs.

I dunno, thought it would be fun /shrug.

There are games similar to that wround allready and I dont think DITL has the resourses to pull that off.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I think it's just ogame.org, personally I play Travian myself for that style, I just don't like the idea that you could be working at it for months and be wiped out completely pretty much

I would like to do a workup on all the main races involved in the dominion war and the ten year period following. I think it would be a good idea to start building a future picture of ST. or just something to base the future off of.

Aye and players could pick their allignment. Federation, Klingon, Cardasian, and what not with their own bennifits and penelties. Ferengi for example get a bonus to energy income due to their trading.

actually on a side note considering this discussion.

there is a great open source civilization game available, personally I like to stick with open source software, not just because of it being free, but because it really ideals what the internet should be about

Hey admins! R_S_, rochey and myself are going to be putting up a chart for Exo-squad ships. We would like to know if you could give us a hand on the math for each ship?
