What's the matter with Red Matter?

Post by Monroe »

wtf is it?
Discuss.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Don't touch it! It's pure evil!

Actually, it's pure, concentrated plot.

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Right. As Graham has pointed out, it's a good thing that this film doesn't dwell on the science (which we know would be pure bullshit anyway); after all, why sit there listening to this stuff when we could be watching sfx so incredible that my friend literally told me they started to give him a headache!

OT: I did find it curious that Abrams once again chooses a floating red ball of liquid as his mystical plot stuff (even though I never did catch the way Alias ended)

I read on TrekMovie that Abrams has to incorporate a red ball of some kind, as well as a Greg Grunberg cameo (in this case, the voice of Kirk's uncle), into every project that he does.

Clearly the Red Matter is a newly discovered stable sub-atomic nuclear element that, when combined with heat and pressure, causes a cascading quantum feedback pulse in the molecular matter of any nearby objects, emitting an interferometric feedback loop through subspace cuasing a quantum flux singularity to appear in any nearby targetted matter at a rate of 1.21 jiggawatts per hour on a quantum resonance frequency band.

Seriously, did you guys not get that?

Actually, its just a newly discovered matter that, when hit with an explosive force causes an exponential increase in density and poof, Black Hole.

And parts of it are new theories being studied (though I have no idea why Abrams made it red).

Don't mix it with yellow matter, seriously. You know in Ghostbusters when they're told not to cross the streams? Well imagine that but over twice as bad!!!

Orange matter is a precursor to Chakat invasion.
