Making a Website

Post by Nickswitz »

I'm making a website for a friend, and I'm wondering a couple things.

1)How do you upload a file that's pre-made?

2) what type of hosting site should I use, such as microsoft, etc.

3)what are some good free Dreamweaver type programs, that are hopefully free, or cheaper that Dreamweaver, I don't have $400 for it.

Other's I'll ask as they come up, as I've forgotten them for the moment.

One Google reveals this:
How to make a website.

Hope it helps. :)

I can create it, I need to upload it to a web hosting server, I've found a few, I figure Ian and Graham could probably help me out since they've done it already. And I'm not sure who are really good, who are bad, etc.

And also I would like not to pay $400 for dreamweaver.

The hosting service should have ways to upload premade pages and such. There are TONS of webhosts out there you could just try google searching web hosts. I use x10hosting which is pretty good. As for dreamweaver type programs, I cannot think of any off hand. Do you intend to code it by hand? If that is the case I would recommend Notepad++, thats what I use.

I can't code by hand, I got some old versions of the software that is needed, dreamweaver CS3 (I don't feel bad stealing old stuff that adobe no longer sells.)
