I might be able to get tickets to see it on the first day it comes out over here. :D

Me and the wife are going on the 20th May, which will be our 5th wedding anniversary. It's so cool having a wife into 'Trek :)

Cool. My wife and I will be married 10 years on May 29. Although she isn't much of a Trekkie...

We've got IMAX tickets for Sunday 10th. I'm kinda nervous, because they are meant to be posting them to us but they haven't arrived as yet. But I'm sure it will all work itself out during the next week!

I've gotten together with a friend of mine to determine when it'll be the best time for both of us to see it; looks like we can both make it to the night of Sat, May 16 at 7:30. Once he confirms that this is 100% OK (he's very busy) I'll get tickets online in advance.

I'm waiting until Wednesday to get the IMAX tickets, but I'll be at the first showing of the morning at my nearest theater. I'm thinking 10:30 showing in town, then 1:30 on the Imax a bit away.

It turns out we won't be going to IMAX, none are close enough. However, we're going to Thursday night at 7PM... Don't ask why it's coming out a day early, but it is... I have no problem with it though. :D

Guys, a little input if you'd be so kind...

I've never been to an IMAX cinema but am thinking about going to one for this movie. For those who have seen the movie in IMAX and 'normal' is there really much tangible difference? The reason I ask is that it's either a 70 mile round trip to the nearest IMAX or just go to a normal one a few miles down the road. If there's not much in it, I won't bother...

IMAX is great and all, but it's not worth a 70 mile round trip, IMO.
Just go to a standard cinema house...

If you can see it in a digital projection cinema then you will be well impressed. IMAX is not much of a step over and above that, certainly not worth a 70 mile round trip. If you only have ordinary projection then perhaps it's worth the trip.

Thanks for the input chaps :)

I have no idea if the local cinema has digital projection but it's an Odean so I guess it might do.
