How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Hmm. That headgear looks suspiciously like a kepi. The Coalition Marine Corps isn't descended from the French Army by any chance?

It's not based on anything specific. I just looked at some hats and then drew that freehand.

Right ho. What about the rest of the uniforms? The artic and temperate dress look very much like they're based on early-war German Army uniforms.

Re: Some Coalition Uniforms
I did look at a lot of German WWII uniforms for inspiration; the temperate one is somewhat based on a German infantry uniform. The arctic one is the same uniform coloured white and modded slightly. For the desert uniform I took the temperate one and basically thinned it down as much as I could get away with; removed the collar and cuffs, made the material fit the body more snugly, etc.
The camo effects are pretty cool. There's a "sponge" filter in photoshop that lets you colour a uniform solid, hit the sponge filter, and it puts a camo pattern on it for you.

Well those would be the soft covers, they'd have kevlar (or whatever it is in the future) helmets right? Also on the temperate boots, you may want to make it a bit more like the US jungle boots:

Re: Some Coalition Uniforms
I have in mind that the uniforms and boots are made of smart materials which can change colours and camo patterns to some extent. Not quite up to the Predator invisibility screen, but matching whatever background you are against. I'm even thinking of having the material be capable of "puffing up" to become thicker and a much better insulator in cold weather.
And yes, there will be various battle gear including solid and forcefield armour, helmets, and ANBCN gear (Antimatter, Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Nanological).

Re: Some Coalition Uniforms
I love my jungle boots.
Anyway, I got the same impression of derivations on the unis as Seafort and Kendall, but I like. The related-ness of the duty unis for different climates is nice to see.

Re: Some Coalition Uniforms
I was thinking of going with a "one uniform for any climate" idea by including heating/cooling systems and smart fabrics, etc. But... well I have come to like drawing them, frankly. And besides, however cheap it gets to include heating and cooling systems in a uniform in the future, surely it will always be cheaper to NOT build them in.
