Poll Discussion: Which civilization...

Post by Bryan Moore »

Okay, so I'm up for discussing which civilization I'd most like to live in.

As expected, Bajor has the most votes, as, lets be honest, it's closest to Earth, and there's a certain familiarity there.

I chose the Dominion. Why? Well, we see very little of what subjects of the Dominion are treated like, but if nothing else I picture a relatively high standard of living for non-subject species. There is nothing saying all totalitarian states are bad. And in relation to the paranoia, fear, and constant political tumult of the Romulan Empire, the government stability is high, thus making me believe there would be a relatively high standard of living. Just a thought, though.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Baku (and not just for the youthiness, I'm rather a fan of spending a long time learning something.)

Klingon. Mainly because a bat'leth is a cool weapon, and I know what it's like to sleep on a hard shelf.

Romulan star empire, it's somewhat like the Roman Empire and I've always wondered how living in the SPQR would be.

Argh! I must have missed that option.
Oh well. :(

My first choice would have been Berengaria VII with those dragons! 8)

My second choice would have been Ba'ku.

As neither were options, it was a decision between Bajorans and Romulans.

I flipped a coin and Romulans won.

Klingon Empire. Blood wine is to the Klingons what moonshine is to us. For that reason and that reason alone, the Klingon Empire.

I'm with Bajor, all the way; a nice idyllic setting, agrarian culture, a little bit of intrigue...all perfect.
Second would probably be Cardassian, but just cause they're my favorite Star Trek race.....

I'd hate to live in Bajor. To religious.

I'd go for the Romulans. I just love the political aspect to it. So sneaky. I think it a war of power they would lose to most of the major players but their tactics and spying are second to none.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Bajor for me, or perhaps Vulcan. If I could survive there... especially the Forge...
