How about we have our own poll here, first, to work out the ten or so best combinations?

Perhaps we could do it as "Which two powers would make a good opponent for the UFP if they worked together?"

Typical aloof vexed snooty incredulous romulan centurion: '' with the spoonheads?!''
Predacious intimidating posturing cardassian legate: '' with the smurf-ears?!, they would only weaken us with their isolationism and petty political meddling''
but secretly under the table the romulan and cardassian are exchanging phone numbers...lol

I'd love an alliance between the two, wonder if it'd be covert and hush hush, rumours of ships amassing in backwater systems, with token publicised incidents of rse-cu border tensions for misinformation etc.......or whether the cardies and rommies would celebrate the new star union and posture away, cardies decloaking lots, and rommies swapping their padded 1980s outfits for cardy ODP's lol

You can do a poll that lets you choose more than one option. So just list all the powers you can think of and let everyone vote for whichever two they want.

I can't see the Cardies and Rommies in anything more than a temporary and uneasy alliance. That much innate paranoia is bound to spill over soon.

However, I think the UFP's innate sense of "appease at all costs" overcomes some of those differences.

I'm not even talking about risking war - I doubt the UFP would even jeopardize an alliance over something like that, even for all its vaunted morals.

Yes, I know about opposing the Klingons in the invasion of Cardassia - but that was the action of one Ben Sisko, and decried by the UFP powers-that-be.
