100K countdown
100K countdown
Well, the countdown has started. Less than a thousand posts to go, and the will have broke the 100K mark!!!

Re: 100K countdown
Wow you really can find anything to post about can't you?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Well, you're certainly doing your part to break that mark.Mark wrote:Well, the countdown has started. Less than a thousand posts to go, and the will have broke the 100K mark!!!

I wonder if we'll get there today.

Funny to think we're just slightly over a year in existance and we're already about to hit 100K.

Re: 100K countdown
If you look into it, it's actually better than that even. Most of our members are inactive - never posted or left after a few posts. When we had 250 members we had maybe 20 or 30 active ones, and only about 10 who were really big posters.
But in the last three months we have had a big surge in active members. We have a LOT of new members who post, not hugely, but a message every day or three maybe. It's made the forum a far more active place than it was. Three months ago the red "new post" button was on for a two or three forums when I got home, and it was generally one or two threads with new posts. Now... almost the whole damn board lights up. Go into forum community after a day away and there's ten or fifteen topics with new posts, and that's not the only place like that.
Busy busy busy

Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

Yes It is very busy. Since I came on instead of being a lurker, i think 7 people actually are regularly posting as in they are posting as opposed to just being here and not doing anything.

Re: 100K countdown
Since my time online can be so haphazard, I soemtimes come on to find new messages - pages, at times - in almost every thread. It's time-consuming, but great to see.

Same here. I can stay off for a day, and then come on the next day and there can be 10 new pages to a thread it's amazing, and very hard on the eyes.

Re: 100K countdown
One thing I have noticed is something of a drop in the number of lurkers - there used to be as many lukers as members online at any given time, if not more. These days we're lucky if there are even a couple.
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.
Re: 100K countdown
I have noticed that, very often there are only 2 or 3 visitors online. I don't know what the #s were before.

Re: 100K countdown
Well I was more of a lurker than now and I've even managed to get a friend to lurk too but don't think he wants to join - I believe he thinks he doesn't know enough about Trek to put in his two cents but the guy is a major old Dr Who fan anf into his movies/ roleplay games etc so I'm working on that angle with him.
Do we get a free gift if we bring a friend in?
