You dare defile our sacred TR-116 thread?!?
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

So along these lines... Why not do something like this, but as a way to transmit viruses to enemies?

By the way, could the effectivness of the projectiles be magnified GREATLY by in effect turning it into a micro torpedo with a tiny bit of m & am , which detonate on impact??? Big holes in people. And before I forget, does anyone know if the TR-116 has a fully auto setting?

Would you want to go into a combat setting carrying stored matter and antimatter slung on your shoulder?

Can't be any worse than going into combat while sitting near the Enterprise-D warp core or any computer console.

Same thing as carrying photon grenades. And besides, if I get shot, that way I wouldn't feel anything. At all. Ever again. Nothing.

Or custard pies! You could pie people from miles away, through walls! Just think of the comedy value!

There is no indication of a full auto setting. All on-screen uses of the TR-116 were single shots, used in the capacity of a sniper rifle.

Every rifle in use today also has the "semi-auto" setting. But military weapons which is what the TR-116 is designed to be, usually have some kind of rapid fire setting, from the M-16A2s 3 round burst to the AK-47s fully auto. That's what got me thinking. A well placed, fully auto burst could wipe out entire bunders of ground troops, if used wisely.

I think the TR-116 was just a prototype weapon that became obsolute with the invention of regenerative phasers...whatever the hell those are.

The TR-116 was designed to be as simple as possible and work in enviroments where other wouldnt. So even if it could have a M/AM bullet it wouldnt.
