The reason it has that type VIII is because it had 5k left over power, not enough for a type XII so I used a type VII so we didnt have any left over power.

There were a couple other configs you could slap one on, BTW.

And, even WWII battleships had other defensive weapons; not just big guns. I guess the "Heavy Hitter" config is the closest to a by-definition naval-type "battleship" we have as a choice...

I tend to think the torpedoes are the heavy armament, and the phasers are the support weapons, personally.

Their would be many cases where you cant a weaker beam.

Yeah I know a few of the others could have them put on but since no one else wanted to put together a configuration I just slapped a few extras together.

You did a great job, IMO. Any idea how much internal volume the torps are going to take?

Well...i've been having a good think...and i think the advantages of the phaser lance are quite appealing.

i dont believe i just admitted defeat.

I'm working on that now. Should be up tonight. Its dependent on what other facilities we want the ship to have.

Yeah I know... who would think people could change our minds with reasoned arguements :P

I'm still not particularly happy about some of the things Deep said. I am NOT an idiot.

Yeah, my mind's been swayed too. I'm changing my vote to the all-rounder.

i think the type VII phaser could be replaced with a X or at least a IX, I mean, the IX arrays were used even on the Ambassadors. Not exactly a huge step up.

There is no more power. I used the type VIII since there was a little bit of power left, just enough to power that.

Also I think it could come in handy to have one weak one.

It has plenty of type XII's and canons. A single type VIII would be handy.

Fair enough. If theres no powerm, then allswell.
I suppose it could be handy should a weak weapon be called for...perhaps disabling something?

I've decided to join the all rounder camp. Seems like the best choice we have left.
