Stargate: SG-1
"Thor's Hammer"

From here on, Season 1, I think, begins to pick up. This is one of my favorites of SG1's first year. Here we have the introduction of the Asgard in the series, even though we don't actually get to see them until Season 2's direct sequel to this particular episode. But, we have the mentioning of them. We also have the introduction of the Unas. James Earl Jones, by the way, was a great choice for the voice. :D

It was a really interesting idea. I like how they delt with the Asgard as gods.

Wouldn't that be the point all along? I mean, calling them Asgard, and all that...

Yeah, the Asgard take the Norse mythology, the Goa'uld take the Egyptian mythology.

I found it interesting that they introduced another species that posed as gods but were the total oposite of the Goa'uld

This, having recently watched it i think is one of the best ideas, purely for its concept. I see the Asgard and Goa'uld as being sort of galactic equals, the yin and the yang of the Stargate universe. one take an aggressive and evil, domineering aspect, and the other a god that all wish to see.

I really liked this episode as well. It also introduced the first ones which were kind of cool.

Really the only thing that bugged me was Thor's burger king tin foil outfit. Beyond that the episode was really well done.
