Babylon 5 (1993) Retrospective/Review - Part 1

Post by Nutso »

Babylon 5 Retrospective/Review - Part : In the late 1980s science fiction on the small screen was dominated by the pop culture sensation Star Trek. With Star Trek The Next Generation securing the franchises legacy for decades to come, there was seemingly no room for anything else. That is until writer/producer J.Michael Straczynski and producers John Copeland and Douglass Netter created Babylon 5. The epic space opera was one of the first real attempts at creating a television novel with serialised long form storytelling. While it never reached the heights of popularity as Star Trek, its impact on the genre and the TV landscape in general cannot be understated.
