I'm just finishing this today. Knowing nothing of the video game series, this is just sci fi for me. Plots (there are a few) can get bogged down from time to time, but moves along otherwise. Decent cgi, acting is a little wooden, but maybe it is meant to feel like that until characters evolve. Having seen the trailers for season 2, and now getting Paramount+ as part of the Showtime package, decided to give the series a go. I think season 2 should be overall a better experience, now being familiar with the characters, places, good guys and bad guys.

Finished season 2 today: felt more like a 'game' in POV shots..final episode took an unexpected turn (as in nothing prepared a non-gamer of the games for it), felt odd and out of sequence with the rest of the main plot lines. I'm guessing it is from the game and will be the main focus of a season 3, which will bring the plots closer to canon of the games.
