This doesn't really enthral me. I will watch it as I like to watch all Trek, but I am more hopeful for Strange New Worlds to bring back the magic of Trek, once it is available in the UK on a service I have access to (either Amazon Plus or Netflix).

Watched the first episode of season 2: quite slow and telegraphs the 'big bad' far in advance

I fear it will be somewhat like when Agents of Shield spent a lot of time doing the Hydra story line...ugh!

Hopefully it will pick up and not continue on the ponderous feel of the premiere.

I just watched episode one last night, I prefer it over season one. Not entirely sold on it, but willing to give it a decent chance. At least I can still watch some of new Star Trek, whilst it is still on Amazon.

I thought it didn't start until Discovery season 4 was over?

I believe it was released yesterday on Prime here in the UK. I caught it last night as I logged into Prime and it popped up.

Paramount Plus is releasing all the Star Trek properties overlapping a bit. The final couple of Discovery episodes at the same time as the first couple of Picard....which will have the final episodes at the same time as the first episodes of Strange New World.

Not sure the reasoning for this type of release. Heck, they changed the name of the service from CBS All Access to Paramount Plus seemingly on a whim of rebranding.

I'm continuing to watch this, but I'm not enjoying it...the doom & gloom of the 'dark' universe is oppressive and at times, unwatchable...the uplifting overall message that was the mainstay thematic material for Star Trek is missing on all fronts...WTF are they thinking?? If this story continues into the third and final season, I will take a hard pass on the end of Jean Luc Picard onscreen. Bon Voyage, mon ami...sad to see you go out this way!

I'm still watching also, but also not enjoying it. It's pretty dismal.

Hating what they're turned Agnes into, and I don't mean the stuff with the Borg queen. That said, boy can she sing!

Also, a car hits Picard and he is in trouble? Data wouldn't have had that problem.

I don't think Picard has a body like Data did.

My guess is his a more refined version (obviously) designed to mimic the human body as much as possible. Including being frail.

I still don't get the point of giving Picard a new body if he is just the same as before.

TBH, they should have just continued that disease thread back in season 1 as something that will end him eventually. Like the end of season 3.

But they used his death in season 1 to convince the androids that he was on their side...
