What made you laugh/smile today?

Post by T'Pau »

In this time of chaos and crisis, I"ve decided to make a new topic to hopefully share positive and/or uplifting moments we all are experiencing in our daily life. Who knows...it might help lighten another persons load for a few moments. Please share!

Today, the pesky woodpecker that has been plaguing me with his early morning drilling, moved on to a neighbor's metal bird feeder. It is still loud, but it is no longer right in my ear. When I saw him going after his own reflection, I actually laughed out loud.

I also smiled HUGE when the email from LEGO arrived to say the back ordered Roller Coaster FINALLY shipped. Tomorrow, plastic sorting mania will begin!

Usually, it's something on here. Sometimes a story.

Thankgod I dont have to deal with annoying birds here in the UK. I only have to deal with stupidity and an ever expanding pile of reasons why people don't trust cops.

Last night, I watched an interview with former California Gov. Ahhnold Schwartenegger. While he was attempting to talk about a charity he formed to get cargo planes filled with needed PPEs to hospitals, he was upstaged by his mini horse and mini donkey. They were mooching oatmeal cookies and carrots right up close to the webcam, so all you heard was munching and crunching with their faces in close up...HILARIOUS!

This evening, I saw that my bunny had brought a bunny friend to visit. Always makes me smile, especially when they are hopping around, chasing stupid robins! :happydevil:

Sidebar: I am surprised that so few have added to this thread. Guess there are a lot of folks out there who don't laugh or smile at anything, or want to share if they do. :(

Finding a missing LEGO piece that had escaped the plastic bag and lodged in the bottom cardboard fold of the box it came in. Tiny plastic nemesis!

Ahhhh the utter joy of having good water pressure in the shower!!!

With so many folks in their homes at all hours, the pressure sweet spot has been tough to dial in.

Blissful surprise when it is there...and for the entire length of the shower!

So, delivery came from a local grocery store, minus protein (sold out) and most of the produce (got oranges). I was not amused, but understood.

Today, after waiting for over a month, Amazon Fresh aka Whole Foods sent an email saying they'd added more delivery to my area and to go ahead and shop. I went right to my Amazon, and clicked for Fresh and no, it didn't say I could. WTF?? I went back to the email, and clicked THEIR link, and was able not only to shop, but to get delivery TODAY...yes that is correct folks, TODAY, by 6pm.

4pm: I thought I heard noises outside the door, looked, and there as if dropped by an imaginary holiday fat man in a red suit, were several bags of groceries. Fresh produce..check! Fresh protein...check! Not a single item was missing or a substitute. Amused....check!

Time to grill up some spicy chicken sausages and fresh asparagus!

T'Pau....Out! <insert mic drop here "ker-thunk">

It's a small thing, but I popped in a DVD. it's the Bangles at concert after their reunion. I was doing it for a 'switch around the lead singers for various Bangles songs' thread on a Reddit dedicated to the band. Well, as i was typing out substitute singers I listened and... damn, those girls sound great. I had a smile on my face as I listened.

I love space and astronomy. So the news of a black hole being close by to earth makes me happy/smile! It means we may find more, we may learn more, we might understand them a little better! How close you ask? At light speed.. it’s a short jaunt at 1,000 years. Still far, FAR closer than the Super Massive black hole at the center of the Milky Way at 25,000+ light years away. At least this star group (a trinary group) can be seen in the Southern Hemisphere with the unaided eyes. At least two of the three bodies can, third being invisible. ;)
