Never a bad idea to have a picket line to screen your more important ships.

Especially to protect against bombers. Remember, in this a large group of bombers can be very deadly to large cap ships.

Just an FYI, still missing a few turns. If you don't submit them that does not guarantee you won't manage to effectively lose the game in the first 3-5 turns. The Trek sim needed some players to stay alive for balance. This sim is designed not to. If you are out for reasons beyond your control all I ask is that you contact me in some manner to say hey, I won't be around for X weeks. I will work with that. But I can't really stop the game for everyone just because some players have not submitted turns.

I am about halfway done with this turn and it looks like we are about 1 or 2 turns from starting the real game. Most neutral powers have fallen or will in the next turn. Once all those actions are out of the way things should move faster as I doubt anyone will launch 2 or 3 attacks in any given turn going forward.

Near term schedule...

Turns are due Sunday as usual. However I have my brothers wedding on Saturday and am at a conference all week the following week. I will have internet at the hotel but I can't be 100% sure when I will get turns fired back out to people. It will happen, but it might be later in the week or we might just slip a week.

The good news is that this should let our somewhat absentee players like Mark get back in the groove before the map fills up and you all start clawing at one another, which is the real meat of the game rather than this early expansion phase.

Also, am looking for 2 people who can respond daily so we can run a test battle so I can test out the hex based battle stuff I have ready. I really think this version should be a good deal of fun, compared to the more uniform trek battles.

BTW, my previous post was regarding next weekend, not this one. This coming week should work normally.
