But that's a good question; where exactly IS the yacht?!

As for the yacht, it's on the underside of the main QT launcher (i.e. the protrusion in the middle of the ventral saucer). How exactly the internals work is anyone's guess - according to the MSD the launcher takes up the entire protrusion.

That's what I thought.

Perhaps the mechanics are above the exterior "bump" bit, and it loads by dropping the torps down into the tubes? That wouldn't require too much space, I think.

Especially if they were micro qtorps, but I wouldn't think so, since those are used on smaller craft like Runabouts.

Oh, I think there was a painting of the docking port of the yacht in one of the Ships of the Line calenders, I think it was the one I have...

I'm not sure micro-Qtorps even exist.

Yeah, I don't remember ever seeing them..............but they COULD likely exist by the time of our Gamma Mission.................or be something new for the one after that, since Teaos likes to jump ahead a few years.

According to the DS9 tech manual they do.

EDIT: Page 149, under "Tactical Systems." They are 13.3cm long.

I was actually hoping to slow that jump down next time, maybe two or three years ahead. Otherwise, we'll all be senior citizens by Epsilon Mission.

I'll just be hitting my prime. 8)

Anyhow, thank you, Seafort - that's what I was trying to express. Turret or not, the mechanisms of the QT "pillbox" would go right where access, docking, and airlock for the yacht would be.

Is it REALLY a turret? IIRC it always fired in a somewhat fixed position.

Its always been labeled as a turret in all of the drawings, but it has not been mentioned specifically as a turret in any movie.

Don't turrets by definition rotate?
