IDK, Graham - I'm 35, and my ears (at least) seem to be as sharp as they ever were - at least in regarding to picking up sound at distance. I do tend to think I have a slight problem picking out speech from background noise, plus I'm married - so I occasionally have selective deafness.

Yup, that's how it is going with me. In a way I know better than most how my hearing is. I do frequency tests in school - play a sound through a speaker and then gradually up the frequency, having kids put their hands down when they can't hear it any more. When I did that as a kid I topped out at about 19 kHz. Nowdays it's 16.5 kHz.

I like my legs, actually; they're in really great shape from all the self-rehab. I just hate my "unable to tolerate an eight-foot fall without inverting" knees.
