Ironically, it was Vinegar Joe's findings on Chiang Kai-Shek's corruption and mismanagement which led Truman to withdraw his support - which forced Chiang Kai-Shek to withdraw to Formosa - which left mainland China ripe for the picking for Mao Tse-Tung.

Not that the Generalissimo would have stopped Mao, but...

i know this shouldn't be in the thread, but guess what?! The radiator passed away last night, and apparently up here,where i live,a higher latitude than moscow,its going to be an ubercold night, man i need a real whingey fit!

I feel your pain. Last couple of days around here have been upper 80's (F.), and the control board in my furnace blew - technically, my air conditioning works, but the blower won't turn on.

alas here,we utilise the finest former soviet union radiators,made from real lead...........seriously our heating is older than me, and we can't upgrade or replace because the boobies that designed the house,made things too entrenched and entwinned

Just buy lots of fan heaters. Though they do share a problem with Rochey. They both like blowing hot air.
