Ok, I've updated the crew manifest, do you think that looks alright? I've added 20 fighter pilots to tactical, and added 15 ship/shuttle pilots to operations (took 15 off "other" to make up for this).

Also I've noticed regarding the fighters, wouldn't it be better if there were two people onboard them? One to fire the weapons and one to fly? Like the Scorpion class fighters on the Scimitar.

Thats what the original fighters were like but Rochey scalled them down so we could carry an extra 2 of them. They are just raw fire power. Point and press a button. I think he took a bunch of the ideas we were discussing in the fighter or fodder thread and applyed them to the new fighters.

Okay. Maybe it would be an idea to update your original post with the revamped ship details and the crew numbers so we don't have to go searching :wink:

Check out the starship design forum and look at Omens Tholian Battlce cruiser. I asked him to design one for us as we will be encountering some latter on. I couldnt be happier with the design. Fits into our story and trek beautfully.

Nice design.

Anyway, can my role be expanded to include something else, like away team specialist or something? Chakats do make good scouts after all. I just don't want to spend all my time in this mission on the bridge.

If you feel like it you can hand over control of helm during battle and be one of the fighter pilots with Metalhead but you will need to modify one of the fighters. Modifying it to fit you could also give your character something to do.

Or we could do a Voyager and build a Delta flyer type thing for you.

make it a pure scout capable of going quite fast and very agile. Not really a fighter. You and some other could get together and build it. Give you guys a project until we get to our destination. I imagin it would be rather larger than a shuttle. Thus we only have one of it and it is almost a small starship.

You're also a part of the operations division so assumedly you could do something in that department too. And also be shuttle pilots.

A hotrod scout shuttle? That sounds interesting. I already have a few ideas. Ultra-responsive thusters, multi-plexing sensor array, Turbo-charged warp drive... I think we might have an interesting new toy to play with.

And just what kind of cockpit do the fighters have? Something like 20th century jet fighters with no room to move, or more like the cockpits of fighters used by the Maquis?

The fighter we have are invented by Rochey. They are rather small so I'd think along the lines of a modern day fighter with a bit more elbow room.

Yeah I think hotrod shuttle is a rather good discription for it.

You can hammer out some basic stats for us and see what people think.

Then in the story thread you and other people help to build it. Give us all a mini prjojecy to work on. But since you have a pretty unique body form it would be yours. Ask the Captain for premision to build a scout/hotrod/toy/ shuttle for you and we can send you on scouting missions. It should have some passenger seats also like the Delta flyer so it is more practical. Then commender a section of the shuttlebay and build away.

As the Akira is never really that explored, it might be an idea to get the deck layout. We can do an initial one now, and then as the story progresses we can add on things to the list as they come about.
This is a very nice image;

This one, however, helps more with the decks;

Science is on part of deck 7. Since its so small other stuff can fit there as well. How about transporters.

Do we want a battle bridge? A smaller less capable version that we can use if the main one gets damaged?

Decks 15 and 16 can be Cargo and weapons storage.

Crew deck 8 and 9 with a few random quarters on other decks.

Guys, I apologise sincerely for my absense over the past two days, my useless internet connection decided to fail on me. Again, I apologise for any inconvinience this has caused.
And just what kind of cockpit do the fighters have? Something like 20th century jet fighters with no room to move, or more like the cockpits of fighters used by the Maquis?
These fighters are small, not much larger than modern fighters, so they will have a rather cramped cockpit with limited flight times. They pack a punch, but can't take hits too well.
