As well as being a testament to the fundamental design stability of the Excelsior.

BTW, Reliant... it's spelled "Theoden."

I'm now annoyed at subtitles. I never watch movies without them, considering my hearing is failing miserably at the moment. And it was spelt Theodin.

Really? I'm surprised, because Mr. Tolkien has always had it as "Theoden."

Aye, someone goofed with the subtitles. It's Theoden.

What they need is to make a Hologram copy (since they somehow know everything the person knew  ) of whoever designed the Excelsior class. Then have them design or redesign the SF.

Why, so every starship will stall if it's missing one or two minor components?

Since that was only the transwarp drive that is no longer in use and there haven't been any problems since, about 90 years now, YES!

Says who? Given that the changes in the warp scale seem to have come in around the time of the Excelsior's launch, what was called "transwarp" in the late 23rd century could easily be the standard warp drive of the mid-late 24th century.

Well if thats the case then they fixed the problem and now the whole design works instead of just part of it making the EXCELSIOR even better.

Score!!!!!!!!!!!!

True.

Probably the design team that designed the Excelsior also designed the Miranda class as well.

No, I'd peg the Miranda designers as the Connie refit designers. They looked at what they had and thought... "We could get more out of this for less".

Well, considering how good a job they did with the Connie refit, someone from that design team had to have been part of the Excelsior design. I mean those two ships are probably the most elegent and graceful of Star Trek.

Not just that, the Miranda and Excelsior classes were some of the most practical, no nonsense vessels that we have seen throughout trek as a whole, along with the Galor.
