On Wednesday, my computer refused to boot, saying "Inaccessable boot device", so yesterday, I pulled my IDE cable... Mysteriously, there were two symmetrical punctures through it. I half expected to see a snake slither out of the case.
So, today, I bought a neat new braided IDE cable for $5 from Fry's. Voila!

Honestly, it reminded me of a few years back when a friend of mine called Dell tech support and got someone in India. The guy had no idea what he was talking about; he said something like "too many megabytes", and my friend got frustrated and hung up on him. I asked what the guy said, and my friend goes: "Cobras bite your hard drive, maybe?" in an excellent Apu voice.
