This is most entertaining and not much damage has even been done yet.

Though I foresee a lot of pain this round.

I agree. I have only just found the game thread, but it is very entertaining. I couldn't stop laughing at things like the collision.

How simple would it be for you to run the numbers for the result for if they'd hit each other, I'd love to see how that would've gone.

an order of magnitude estimate:

If I'd done nothing and just let them it, that would be game over most likely. they might both still have the engineering hulls, but the lack of weapons and roll penalties would have killed the game.

What I probably would have done if I'd had them hit is realize it at the last moment and go full reverse which likely would have taken out the forward section/head of the ships.
