I never thought that made any sense at all. A station THAT big, with a quarter million people?

So, how far are we advancing the story this time?

If I can fit in a post or two during my move, I will.

2 questions:

1 - How far ahead are we going?

EDIT: I'm assuming 3 years since that's the age difference between W't'risk's bio for the last mission and the one Mikey just put up.

2 - If I kept James Corrin (the Marine) would that be out of place or is there a spot for Marines in the new mission?

We'll have to double-check with Mark, but I believe he said three years ahead.

BTW, I'm sure there's no problem with having Corrin along; even if there's not a full contingent of marines, I bet we'd have room for a special-ops team.

Three years.

The general storyline will be a new "subspace highway" was discovered, opening up exploration to a new region of space. Starfleet has built a new Starbase in a habitable system. Exploration has begun and is going well, however....some ships have gone missing. A relief task force is being sent to the new base (US) to provide security and try and find out what is happening to the ships.

Lets just say, Marines will indeed have a place on this mission.........and I'm keeping the "bad guys" a secret for now. The only one who knows is Mikey for now.

I just noticed that we have two votes for "let it die." Oh well, thanks for the time spent and see ya later.

For the rest of us... once we get some more bios up, I'll also make up a list of ships in the task force and the PC's billeted on each.

I'm up for an officer on board another ship if we got them. What vessels you looking at posting with the group?

TBH, I haven't really consulted with Mark as to what vessels or whether this was another multi-lateral mission. I was really waiting to see who was coming, ad just basing using that to see what ships were along. Obviously we have the Paladin, Daystrom, and Ravage so far, as we have characters posted on all three ships; but I don't think it would be a problem to add whoever you want.

I might simply stick with a character on the Paladin or Daystrom, Stops me from going super hero like I had a habit of doing with the Lacron

I don't think you did, and we'd all have noticed - I think we may have all been overly sensitized to Mary-sue-ish-ness.

If you wanted to bring her back, I don't see an issue; but again, I'm not sure what Mark had in mind regarding this being a UFP task force or an "international" one.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if she were washed out of Imperial command for reckless behavior.

A diplomat or Attaché perhaps?

Considering the timeline and factoring in the destruction of Romulus, I see a galaxy with the Romulans working as closely with the Feds as the Klingons, so I have no problem with the idea of Klingon or Romulan forces joining us. But, it might be easier with just a Fed task force, as we didn't have a huge turnout last time to play Klingons or Romulans (excepting Reliant).

What I'm thinking ship wise for sure now would be

Daystrom
Paladin
Ravage
Unnamed GCS (primary role as a troop and support craft carrier)
and maybe two Defiant class escorts.

The Starbase will have ships assigned there as part of is Galaxy Exploration ops, so we'll have a few other ships to play with.

Thoughts?

Seems good to me. I'd say that the vessels that are attached to the Starbase are some older more obsolete ships, like Ambassador, Cheyenne, Olympic or Steamrunner classes. The outer rim exploration missions such as this I can't really see getting priority of all the latest shiny ships.

as for the GCS, I'd suggest something either suitably grandiose or something with Stellar phenomenon ties. Triangulum or Magellan, if grandiose then something like Dreadnaught, Endeavour or something like that.

If somebody wanted to play it, I could easily see a research-type being sent along to map the "highway" - Nova-class, Norway-class, etc., or perhaps the Ravage gets set up with a sensor pod.

I'm not sure I see SF sending a pair of Defiants along when the task group already includes the biggest bad-ass of the fleet plus a torpedo cruiser. Paladin is a battleship, Daystrom and Ravage are heavy cruisers... I'd see smaller, more role-specific ships as the adjuncts to those three.

Of course, we could rationalize anything if someone wants something specific to play.
