Seriously, I go over that ever month when I use it, what phone is it?Reliant121 wrote:admittedly 1gb, but no-one would reasonably use that much
iPhones, etc (from people's lives thread)

Yeah, that's what we have. except with 750 minutes, we never use more than 300 of them between 5 people. We love it, it's fairly cheap, and the coverage is decent, not the best phones, funniest thing being, I picked out the best phones for everyone in my family, and I have a phone I hate.

What the hell do you use it with man?!
I got it on a Nokia N97 mini which my father promptly broke. A string of phones have been in my ownership since then but I now use a Nokia N86 8mp (symbian non touch).

I just browse the web, admittedly a lot, but still, 1GB is nothing, I go through that within 2 weeks if I'm being careful, not as much anymore, but in school I would, because I couldn't use my iPod Touch to browse the web.

Thats insane. It must ba CDMA thing, I know people who literally sit on their phone internet cause they have no laptop and never tip over 500mb. Besides, unlimited Data in the UK is impossible, the networks have stopped covering it cause it was getting overused. You can only get data with limitations now.
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Same here, we got grandfathered in, until renewal of contract.

When I renewed about a year ago, VZW still offered Nationwide plus which includes unlimited internet. Sprint offers a cheaper unlimited plan, but most of my peeps are on VZW and I get better coverage. MetroPCS also has a cheaper plan but not much of a device selection.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Yeah, if you read the contract, it isn't unlimited, Sprint is 3GB a month I believe, and Verizon is 5 I think. So yes, they lie to you, but for the most part someone won't use more than that at any given time, so therefore the FCC (I think they regulate that) has no problem with them claiming it's unlimited because studies prove that the average is around 2GB for Sprint, and 4GB for Verizon, actually I think it may be lower for Verizon than even that...

Network coverage over here is generally good on all fronts, except of course for 3 which are awful. its merely some networks are cheaper, while some offer more for the money but some have bigger varieties.

Is T-Mobile big over there? I know AT&T is pretty small...
I find it sad that there is such a small number of decent carriers over here.

T-Mobile are fairly large. The big carriers are T-Mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodaphone. 3 used to be but has sorta devolved. Virgin Mobile are carried on the back of T-Mobile, as are Asda I think. Tesco goes on the back of Orange or Vodaphone.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Probably for the same reason if I knock off on my phone to surf the web in the middle of a meeting my bosses get pissed.

I can get away with breaks, but our wifi networks are ridiculously locked up so i have to use mobile data.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Most so called unlimited data plans, landline and mobile, have a fair usage policy over here in the UK. I think they're now banning carriers from using the word unlimited.
