Pretty sure this is single player only. Though it would be pretty epic if we could do the missions in Co-Op. I'd shell out for Live if that happened.

There was just a monster of a preview for the game on during the NFC championship game. Didn't leave me say, "I gotta play this game," so much as, "I HAVE GOT to see this movie."

Mass effect is what, for me at least, is a true hardcore RPG game. For me, An RPG should be just as much about the story as it is about killing things. In that vein, I adore MGS4: Guns of the Patriots because half of it is a movie. Mass Effect the original, was almost a mix of movie/game. I imagine ME:2 will mirror it.

I get my copy tomorrow after work. Pretty much gonna plug out the phone and lock the doors till monday :)
--------------------

Well I've got the game now and been playing it for 6 hours, I had to check the in game clock because I just couldn't believe how quickly the time has passed.

There are some changes to the game but mostly for the better
The hacking and door override is different but once you get used to it its good. The finding resources on uncharted worlds is good too but I'm not sure if the novelty will stay the same over time on that score.
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!

I've had the game 3 days. Now completed. To be fair I haven't left it since I got it (only to sleep or eat). Thats the only thing about ME 1/2, the story is brilliant but isn't really long enough.

Anyone else notice that the canister on the flamethrower rotates like a cement mixer?

Not yet.

I am hating this ammo crap though. One of the things I enjoyed most about ME was the overheating mechanic.

They should have gone to a hybrid system. Or let you wait a bit to pick up your discarded but now cool sinks.

See, that idea came to me immediately. Have a system where you've got say, five heat sinks in your gun. You've got unlimited ammo. However if you overheat and have to get right back in it you can pop a heatsink and get back to it or wait for it to cool down normally. It would make you think about when you want to use one of your limited supply of sinks and when you can wait a minute.

There's new DLC for ME2, new outfits for some of your crew, a new heavy weapon and 5 short missions that let you use a new vehicle (think a hover tank type thing that can jump).
They're free if you have a cerberus network card to download them.

Yeah, something's F'd up there for me. I registered my game online, registered my cerberus card, and yet... nothing. The cerberus thing is active in game but I can't download anything.

I do remember it being a bit tricky to get my card to work but now once I start a game there's the little "extra content" or somesuch at the bottom of the little pc screen you use at the resume/ load bit.

I'm downloading the arc gun and the tank. The outfits are 160 points, so unless it makes Jack and Juggs more slutty then I'll pass.
