Yeah.....all things considered I think I'd rather go at it with the Jemmies than the Borg. But thats just me personally, and I don't have plot power or a Janeway ego behind me, so.......

On the flipside, though, I wonder if Voyager could've technobabbled a solution to the polaron beam problem on their own...

Easy solution - don't try and stop them. The Borg have a track record of ignoring those they're not actively interested in, or are trying to cause them damage. Therefore you've at least got a chance of dodging them. The Dominion, on the other hand, has shown itself to be aggressively territorial, to the extent of ramming retreating ships, and unlike the Borg their weapons go straight through Fed shields, removing even that slim bit of breathing room.

Not quite - more like choosing to take the risk of an avalanche because an experienced mountaineer who's a poor swimmer would have a better chance of surviving that.

Agreed, although the height of foolishness did seem to often be Janeway's stock-in-trade.

I wonder if the writers ever even considered the DQ route home.

I don't think the two shows writers communicated very much.

Probably because the DS9 writers were worried about getting the Voyager writer's stupid on them.

Very true. From DS9s awesomeness to Voyager's silliness, how did it happen so quickly?

It happened at pretty much the same damn time.

My opinion is that all the talent from TNG went to DS9 and the rest went to Voyager.

And yes, I'm sure someone's going to come along and point out that some writers did somethings and went some places and make a liar out of me. I just like claiming that.

I think your pretty much right, VOY had maybe one or two good episodes, whereas DS9 had it the other way around...

They tried to take Voyager back "into the light" of TNG, as opposed to the darkness of DS9. The problem is, the darkness was working, and would have worked OH SO MUCH BETTER for Voyager.
