I actually think that makes more sense.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
just so everyon here knows here is what I believe to be the final mark up on the 2v2 battle, I'm still waiting on Final approval from all parties, but I don't forsee any big issues:
Teaos and Reliant vs Mark and Staplic
Paladin and Negh'Var taking on a Dominion Battle ship and Scimitar (Respectively)

Team 1
Combined strength: 13,463
Team 2
Team 1 = 13,463
Team 2 = 8,000
Not really balanced but as I've always said, I dont think GK's calculator is a very good judge of ship power.
The Paladin has over double the DB's defences and triple others. Both the DB and Scimatar have lots of guns but they are all fairly weak in comparison and scattered across the ships.
Team 2 seems to have bigger guns while team 1 has a shit load of weaker ones. Defences seem to be pretty even, the Paladin can soak up the most damage by far but its off set by the Negh'Var's piss poor defences.
But since Rochey has his own way of working out weapons power I think this may be closer than it seems depending on what rating he gives the Lance and how he deals with the 50+ guns on the Scimitar.
I'm not really sure how long the fight will last, some of these ships are massivly defended but all the ships have huge fire power.
Personally I think we need to adjust the numbers on the ships a bit, reduce the amount of weapons the Scimitar and DB carry since they arent canon numbers and that many weapons is going to be hell to calculate. Give them less but more powerful guns.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
maybe do divide the total number by 3 and give each 2x the power.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
Yeah something like that. 52 is just a stupid number, If they are evenly spread across the ship that means about half will be able to be fired at any one time, more if the enemy ships are spread out. Thats to much calculations for to little benifit. Better to have fewer more powerful guns, if anything that helps you guys more than hurts, the only thing you lose is survivability.
Also the Scimitar and Dominion guns have no canon power, hell we havent even seen the Dominion ship fire them really.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
I agree, I certainly wouldn't want to be rochey calculating what of the 52 guns hit, where they hit and the damage to them after words. We could easily reduce that to 16-18 disruptors with 2x the power of a the normal Schimitar's.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
We need to decide the weapons power of these weapons since a lot of them dont have canon powers. Here is what I think, the torp rates are all DITL canon.
Dominion
Heavy duty Pulse polaron cannon - 50k TW each
Phased polaron beam emitters - 135k combined (So each gun would be a fraction of that depending on how many there are)
Mark 2 photon torpedo tube - 1 torp every .8 seconds.
Romulan
heavy disrupter cannon - 350k combined (Each gun is fraction of that depending on number of them)
S3 photon torpedo tube - 2 per second every second
One radiation gun - (if you manage to hit something with it its dead, but takes 5 turns to charge and you have to be stationary to fire it)
Klingon
Mark 18 pulse disrupter cannon - 60k each
Mark 12 disrupter cannon - 10k each
Triple Fire photon torpedo - 3 per salvo, one salvo a turn
Federation
Phase Lance - Not really sure what to give this is the Dominion and Klingon big guns are around 60K this should be at least double that and maybe have a modifier on it to help punch through shields
Rapid fire pulse fire canons - 30k each
Type XII Phaser arrays - 40k each
Rapid fire torpedo tubes - 4 per second every second, chance of more than one salvo a turn but each salvo has less chance of hitting?
Pulse fire tubes - 4 in a salvo, reload time of 3 seconds so maybe 2 salvos a turn?
Type III rapid fire tubes - 10 every 5 seconds evenly spaced
I think Rochey already has numbers for QT's and PT's.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
As to the battle coming up. Rochey already has the modifiers we may need. If you start going into mods, you'll have to start figuring in SFs better sensors and targeting and repair abilities. The Klingons would be looking for bording. Its best not to really get into making up mods for everything.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
Each ship gets a minor modifier, this round Staplics ship got two modifiers on it due to its size. Everything else is just standard numbers.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
yes, but just do the major differences: like with my cloak active there's a -4 to hit or something like that.
For convienience of math, probably only one salvo of torps per tac phase, we're already making the poor man calculate around 50 torps each turn.
PS aren't the numbers for the Type XII phasers a little big? 10k more per array than a cannon?

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
I was looking at the DITL numbers for the Defiant class, its type X was pretty powerful so I figure a type XII would be rather more so. Also I figure they would be in the same league as the big guns of the Klingons and Dominion but a bit weaker.

Re: DITL Battle sign-ups
when I calculate the power for my ships I use the number from the post about decideing Beam wepons which I believe is like 7500 TW, I can understand if you wanted to up that to like 10-20k each, but 40 seems a bit excessive
