Which would make the GCS really useful.

Cardis - "Lets take out their supply ships! Then we'll just wait them out!"
Vorta - "That is very unwise."
Cardis - "Why?"
Vorta - "Its to risky to attack them."
Cardis - "How risky is a supply ship?"
Vorta - "Why don't you ask them?" (pointing to the GCS wings)
Cardis - "Oh, are they protecting them?"
Vorta - "No, they are them!"
Cardis - "OH!"

Aye, they'd be good for extending the range of your fleet.

I like it. Massively huge to serve a multitude of ships, and with PLENTY enough firepower to defend themselves.

Anyone would care to theorize how a Galaxy would refuel a Defiant... efficiently?

They're called hoses and conduits. They're awesome.

Really? Because unless they're still it would be a little complicated to use hoses and conduits even at slow speed. But it can be done though.

If you're refueling why are you moving? Just pick a random spot in deep space, all stop, hook up and go.

You wouldn't do it at slow speed - you'd stop relative to the other ship. Speed relative to everything else in the universe is irrelevant.

Remember Martok was worried about the over extended supply lines when the Dominion turned and ran back to Cardassian space. This would allow time for the supply ships to catch up. The fleets could just feed off of the GCS wings for a while. Being it would only be a matter of weeks maybe a month and the GCS is carrying stock for a lot longer then that.

Yeah, because in the middle of a war, stopping two or three ships to refuel them is very smart. They don't make a tempting target.
