Awful. Back when I played Firearms (a Half-Life mod), you got booted for an hour for more than five TKs.

BTW, what game(s) do you generally play online?
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

You should see me when I play drunk. Look out!
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

I usually don't play on-line. I just hooked up with some friends and we play Halo at their place. But that was a while ago. Most have moved out of town to go to colledge, or in some cases just to get away from their parents :P so we haven't hooked up in over a year or two.

I didn't mean that you should. Besides, there is no draft on, remember? It was just an example of you being over the age of majority.

The draft is a form of conscription, right?
What circumstances would be necessary for the US to start this up?

Circumstances necessary to institute a draft? An all-out declared war and a far smaller standing army than we currently have.

What Mikey said and a political death wish or a serious hate on for the military.

Depends if you're talking about poiltical or military requirements. If you're talking about politics you're right, but if you're talking about purely military requirements you need a draft now.

I think it would depend on the type of war being fought. If a draft were instituted to support Iraq, sure, but if the war in question was more WW2 than Vietnam in character (i.e. against a great power opponent, and started by a clear act of aggression), then I don't think it would be as much of a political problem.

I think Rochey was asking about what would instigate the institution of a draft - not discussing our need of one.
