Thats true - you hear all sorts of nasty stories - the CIA LSD stuff is well enough known but I thounght I heard about disease's and effects of radiation experiments too in the 50's.
(I'm at work now so can't go looking for info as access is pretty restricted but I might get time later at home).

There's been all sorts of rumors about syphilis experiments on Army soldiers or southern African-American populations, but I've yet to see any evidence other than conspiracy theorists. As far as LSD experiments, Dr. Leary and the "acid tests" affected a lot more people than the CIA ever did.

Well the syphilis in the poverty stricken African American town is really well documented by the doctors who did the tests. I just can't remember the name of the damned town now.

Yup, that'd be the one, there is quite a bit of documentation on it.
