Anyway, my vote goes to The Life of Brian, if it can be considered a sequel.

What would it be a sequel to?

Holy Grail. As I said, if it can be considered a sequel.

That's a big "if." I don't see it.

Besides, it wasn't better.

Are we talking about the film or novel? Because Two Towers (novel) was better where Fellowship (Film) was the better... RotK (both) were impressive in scope but I just didn't feel connected with the characters in the fashion I felt that I should have.

I preferred the Two Towers film over The Fellowship of the Ring anyway...

The Two Towers was the best of the Triology of films I thought, and much improved in the extended edition.

Agreed, absolutely.

Agreed again, although I'm not a great fan of the film. Its visuals were extremely impressive, but the trek across Mordor and Aragorn's move to the Black Gate felt badly rushed, the lighthouse of Mordor was downright stupid, and they missed out what was probably the most important aspect of the book - the Scouring of the Shire.

The Scouring of the Shire was the worst omission in my opinion. Not least because they could easily have shaved enough off the overstretched ending to fit it in the film.

They should have had two versions of the films. The short version for the theaters and an insanely long version for the real fans.

Agreed, the kick on Saurman was a waste.

No, they were too uber. If they had turned up earlier no body else would have needed to bother showing up to the fight.

Am I the only one who felt that all three films were a huge disservice to the wonderful books of Mr. Tolkien?

The whole Rohan-related plot was a mess- they made a real mess of Theoden's personality, wasted lord knows how long with Aragorn's trip down the river, added the elves and left our the Huorns. It wasn't the worst of the film though - that "honour" has to go to the detour to Osgilliath and the mess they made of Faramir.
