Yeah, the whole "ZOMG! D&D is teaching our kids to do witchcraft and stuff!" thing is what first came to my mind when I saw this, too.

The really funny part is: WH40k isn't for kids. It's for teenagers and adults who like to wargame.

Idiots.

Aye, that's the thing. The entire universe is clearly written as the greatest dystopia you could ever imagine, that no one would ever want to live in. The guy seems to think the creators are actualy supporting the idea of such a future.

Nope. From here. It's a sort of demonic sewing machine.

I just thought they were being somewhat realistic.

I still wanna know how a little kid gets the disposable income for WH40K. At least with D&D a kid could just stumble into it and start playing with minimal outlay. WH40K though isn't something you can just pick up and play for free.

When a squad of space marines can cost you $40 before paint and you need a half dozen of them to start playing along with a $50 codex... that's bigger pockets then I had when I was twelve.

Dad already plays and he lets Junior play with his army? Dad gives money to Junior to play?

Maybe, but in that case Dad is already fully aware of what's going on. The borrowing, not the money though if Dad is giving the kid the money he's fully responsible for what his kid buys. This article seems to suggest that junior is getting into it without Mom and Dad knowing. At least that's the impression I got.

That's what I got as well. Like you say, most kids don't have the money for this. Heck most adults probably don't.

I hate to make assumptions, but the author of that article sure seems like a member of the Christian right. I guess they had nothing bad to say about the incredible number of references to Christianity/Catholicism in 40k...
