I doubt it - a pistol is too short-ranged, and there were a lot of Jem Hadar. A couple of men with SLRs could probably have held it though.

How would having single-lens reflex cameras help?

Yep - the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle. The only western weapon to come close to the reliability of the AK47, and one of the three best rifles of the 20th century.

Oh, the FAL. Yep - as a student, and one who has admittedly never fired a firearm, I've generally been a fan of FN products. The bit about the pistolero was hyperbole, BTW.

Oookay... In any case, from what I've read, it seems that they didn't actually intend the ship to have a captain's yacht at first, and therefore they had to redesign it a bit (with more rounded surface details) for Insurrection.

That seems to be the size of it. Why the writer's didn't seem to catch the glaring flaw which caused us to have this discussion is beyond me, though.

Could burst fire mode be done vertically? Drop them down in sequence timed with rapid-fire launching charges?

I'd guess so. That would, in fact, probably lead to less problems than having multiple casings in the chamber at once.

Aye, that's what I proposed earlier. The torps can simply be dropped down into the tubes from above.

50 yards isn't exactly short-ranged; I don't think they were even that far away, though I haven't seen the ep in a while.

For reference The Siege of AR-558.

I'm no expert, but the Jem'hadar looked pretty close. That might be within pistol range.

Still. Two Mujahadim With AK's would fair better than Starfleets troops.
