Really? Ah, well, shows how much I remembered from that show.

I'd still have just left them there, though, if stopping them meant giving up my only way back.

The were in no way enslaved.

The Ferengi were just possing as messengers from the Gods. The people still had free will and could do what they wanted.

The Ferangi would steal all their produce or the guy's daughters or something.

The Ferangi weren't exactly benevolent...

True; but we're discussing a) enforce a change on a particular planet's social circumstnaces, or b) get home when it appeared to be impossible.

And the Ferengi werent being cruel so much as greedy. Over the long term they wouldnt have a negative impact on the planets culture.

I find her mistake to be not putting them in the brig.

SJM#5 i think
The whole series
they should have just let the maquis vessel go into the badlands and get blown up because it would then we wouldn't have to nitpic about every single episode of VOY therefore making everything much better
see much better :jester:

The Maquis vessel was small and used to the Badlands, its safe to assume they would have survived.

But it WOULD have been cool. Seeing a darker side of Trek. I don't think the Maquis would have been evil, or amoral. Just with a different set of priorities and a different attitude.

You'll find that the vast majority of this board support the maqui. The federation screwed them over.
