Yeah, I think booting you up a rank (or the other guy down a rank) works best.

I was saying Major is equivilent to the navel rank of Lt. Cmd.Mikey wrote:Not at all. Excepting the MACO's, Starfleet (and Earth Starfleet) uses naval-type rank systems, in which "Major" doesn't appear at all.ChakatBlackstar wrote:But Major is about equivilent to a Lt. It also follows the historical precedent of the engineer being the second officer on a vessel.Reliant121 wrote:

That would make sense.

Sorry Mikey, I thought I had made mine Leutenant JG.

No worries. We wouldn't want to insult a member of the Andorian Imperial Guard, now would we?stitch626 wrote:Sorry Mikey, I thought I had made mine Leutenant JG.
Besides, the feedback I'm getting is that I should have been a Lt. Cmdr. anyway.

So, problem solved.

Re: Enterprise Roleplay sign in
Anyone got a real idea, for our purposes anyway, of the separation or inclusion of UESPA vs. Starfleet?

I would guess that the UESPA was an old term. And Starfleet a new one.

Perhaps UESPA is a rival space organisation?

However, it definitely still existed as of Kirk's time; and canon shows joint logo displays, etc.

Indeed. We know it exists, even if we didn't see it in ENT. The question is what does the UESPA do, and how does it relate to Starfleet?

Re: Enterprise Roleplay sign in
Exactly my question. It couldn't have been the precursor to Starfleet if it co-existed with Starfleet even until TOS-era.

Probably a major civilian science agency, that Starfleet occasionally assigns ships to run missions for.Rochey wrote:Indeed. We know it exists, even if we didn't see it in ENT. The question is what does the UESPA do, and how does it relate to Starfleet?
