Just once; I was eight years old, and I misjudged the height. Pop! Couldn't afford to get them fixed, and so now, 19 years later, I can barely walk. From what I've seen, I'll be able to walk for another two or three years, if I stay off of my feet a lot.

Nasty.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

The forum stats on the main site still seem a bit wonky - they're currently claiming that the forum has had 56,196 posts from 276 members. The forum itself claims 55,200 posts from 278 members. :? The member number might simply be an update lag, but the postcount inconsistency is decidedly odd.

That is odd...

To the Mystery Machine!!!

...er, I mean, I wonder what could be causing it?

What we're "going on about" are issues you likely (and hopefully) won't experience for some time - the joys of middle-age.

Tsukiyumi - any thought ever given to Stryker artificial knees? My wife has degenerative osteoarthritis, and has started doing some research; apparently they last longer than they used to, although second replacements are still beyond our ken. Even so, though, I would guess being in a wheelchair in 40 years is better than being in one in 5. As I understand it, you're not running marathons anyway.

What I meant was that there are certain things you can't do with an artificial knee or two, but it sounds like Tsukyumi wouldn't be missing those things anyway because of the current state of his injuries.

I see it too.
Also two of the smilies have changed, I think I prefered the original.
