Indeed, captain. Now, you JG types get to polishing the deckplating. We like Graham's site looking nice and tidy whenever he stops in for inspection.Teaos wrote:You get to boss around all the Ensigns and Lt jg.

Not really. With sufficient technology, it'd still be possible to construct it. However, it would be a hell of a lot more difficult.

I just dont think its possible for anyone less advanced than the Federation to be able to do it.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Probably a discussion for another thread, but what would be involved in creating the orbital ring around the Earth, like the ones in Arthur C Clarkes
"3001" and "Fountains of Paradise". Space elevators included of course
Its one of the things I'd like to have seen happen in my lifetime.

Humans will be to busy just staying alive to build anything like that.
Also I doubt we have the resourses to build one now or anytime in the near future.
On the plus side it would help Global Warming. Blocks part of the sun.

Agreed. It'd be virtualy impossible for even all the combined nations of Earth working together to pull off something like this. Hell, look at how long it's taking to get the ISS finished. Also I doubt we have the resourses to build one now or anytime in the near future.
