Bajor Post DS9

Post by Moose »

By the end of DS9 as we all know Bajor still hadn't joined the Federation (as shown by the Dangling Threads Article... kudos for that by the way), but realistically how long do you think it would have taken them to join?

Given how close even Winn Adami came to welcoming membership in Rapture and the obvious instability in the region after the Dominion War I honestly can't see it being much more than a decade to fifteen years at most.

In the non canon books it was very fast.

I'd say with in a year two at most.

Agreed, a few years would be my opinion.

The books it's almost immediate.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Yeah. IIRC, in the relaunch novels, it's neck and neck with Ben and Cassidy's daughter being born. And it would make sense, too.

They would want all the help they could get after the war.

With the Federation no longer involved in a war, Bajor would no longer have any reason NOT to join.

But Bajor would get less help out of the Federation after the war... during the War Bajor didn't really suffer, but the Federation would be ill-equipped to help her out much.

Over all it seems better to be a member than not. They had wanted to for awhile anyway.
