I saw it last week.

I am going to say that the praise it has been getting is certainly warrented.

The basis of the movie is post war Japan and it's rebuilding efforts. You see the individual, ground level effort of this happening. First starting with the main character coming back to nothing, family gone and having to rebuild from the rubble. From shacks, adopting a baby and bringing in a woman to help while getting a job removing mines from the sea. Throughout the movie you will hear about the disarmament too.

Godzilla is there without a doubt but this really could be a movie about a natural disaster. Godzilla for the first time in a long time is frightening when he is around. He also unlike before can be injured but has Wolverine/Deadpool like regeneration.

This isn't like other Godzilla movies even the Shin Godzilla movie where some Super tech is brought in to defeat him. It's a bunch of WW2 vets coming in with what they got to do something against him.

You do actually feel for the humans in this movie. Truly do.

All made on $15 million. Which is absolutely amazing. This really should have been put in more theaters.
