Just seen the finale, and overall loved it, much as the rest of Season 3. I wish the first two seasons were even almost as good.

However, I was disappointed by the new Enterprise being the recommissioned Titan. The Federation flagship should be a top of the line, major capital ship, whereas the Titan is a mid-level ship. I don't like the design anyway, which probably prejudices my view.

Aside from that I loved the episode, I hope Matalas is kept onboard for more Trek.

Loved seeing all the old crew round the table playing poker at the end.

Was Crusher an admiral before she buggered off to raise Jack, or have thy recommissioned her and promoted her since returning?

She wasn't in Starfleet after Jack was born. She was recommissioned as head of Starfleet medical and promoted to Admiral.

I somewhat agree that the new Enterprise is a bit silly. It was only a short while ago that they launched the Enterprise F as part of Frontier day. That ship, apparently, has been killed off within a year as part of this change over. Not a good end for an Enterprise really.

The post spoiler scene (after the card game) was also interesting.

Post credits scene made season two moot.

Not really, he did say that humans think linearly. Presumably meaning it was a younger version that was talking to Jack. The end of season 2 was still the end of season 2.

Where do you see a spin-off happening within the current set of productions in line to air?

Final season of Discovery lands in 2024

Section 31 'movie event' ( I'm thinking short series over single drop) lands ??

Prodigy and Lower Decks ??

With Picard season 3 being so well received by both critics and fans, how much of a fast-track will a "Legacy" series take?

Pretty sure, next up is Strange New Worlds, season 2. They're already trailing it.

I can't see them making the series a priority. With relatively minor characters, other than 7 of 9 and the newish Raffi, +/- nuPicard. nuPicard doesn't really have any pull other than a character name. The old crew is the ones with the attraction, anyone other than seven, quite a lot less.

To be honest nuPicard isn't a character I've found particularly appealing. He's a bit of "a smart arse git", to put it lightly. The season seems to have pulled Picard away from Laris, just when he was meant to have reconciled with being with her.

My mistake, forgot about SNWs...really looking forward to it!

I asked about 'Legacy', meaning the new crew of the Enterprise-G...which includes Geordi's daughter, Picard's son, ..those being legacy by name.
Perhaps a few one off visits from TNG characters...I asked after seeing lots of chatter about a possible series with that title being bantered about in reviews and on talk show interviews. And with the reappearance of Q yanking Jack's familial chain...certainly feeling like a thread placed to pull into something later on.

Yup, that's what I was talking about. nuPicard = Jack. I just can't see it being a project that would get in the way of anything else.

I'll grant you that as a series it would have a better initial knowledge base from the first episode than prior series.

I suppose you could say the same for Strange New Worlds, which had a run in Discovery before being real.

Funny, just saw a petition on twitter, to greenlight 'Legagy'..guess there is some fan-driven action happening out there.

I think a 'Legacy' series would have a better base than, say, TNG initially did. You've got the TNG fans and name recognition.

Apart from the fact that nobody from TNG will be in it at all. Only some offspring and a Voyager crossover, albeit an excellent one.
