Enola Holmes. Not bad. Not as good as the first one.

I remember that one, kinda oddball movie. Yes, the investigation side was rather slow but as you say the cast was good. The three covered pictures kinda made me smirk. Today I'm off to see:

Black Adam (for the second time)
Prey for the Devil
Black Panther
Living (which looks fantastic)

Black Adam is a first for me, a DC movies worth watching.

Slumberland: Jason Momoa stars as an outlaw dreamer hunting for a treasure map from a recently orphaned girl. A Netflix production with great cgi throughout (pay close attention to the pig, he steals the show and is sooo darn cute) and even though the twist is foreshadowed hard, still entertaining

Living was indeed fantastic. Not altogether what I thought to start with, but excellent.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Hmm... I'm not overly sure about this one. For a Marvel movie up against a DC movie (Black Adam) I kinda like Black Adam more. Black Panther seems to spend too much time morning Chadwick Boseman. Sure, it needed to acknowledge his passing, making the title sequence Marvel Logo all amount him was a good touch. Equally, spending some time on it was worthy, but it seemed to go on too long, distracting from the true story of the movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: Drax and Mantis set out to give Peter Quill the best Christmas present ever...and hilarity ensues!
Fun, silly, heartwarming, good all around way to spend an hour.

Black Adam: entertaining, frenetic, aggressive, in desperate need for character backstory for the JSA members, and a few more 'light' moments!

Indeed, I still think it is somewhat better than Black Panther, Wakanda Forever. I'm seeing both again tomorrow along with:

The Menu : Super rich go to an island for dinner.
Strange World : Disney style underground odd world.
Matilda, The Musical : Movie adaptation of the stage adaptation of the Roald Dahl's book about a gifted child sent to a nasty school.

Black Adam.

The Rock with Super Powers.

I did like what they did with the origin of his powers. The comic book version is all over the place and honestly wouldnt really work on screen.

Because of Dwayne Johnson, they did tone back the ruthlessness of the character. The movie just made him out to be ruthless due to the time frame he was raised or taught. So he was more of a good anti-hero learning how things are in the 21st century.

Doctor Fate and Hawkman were great. The other two could have been left out. They didn't do anything really. Maybe for filler.

Dwayne Johnson should allow his characters to actually get beat. Right now if they make a movie with anyone whether it's Superman or Shazam you will basically expect the fight to end at a standstill.

The Menu was odd, to say the least. Intriguing but not great.

Strange world, was very very woke. I'm not saying that in a bad way, it was subtle and not super pushy about it. Over all strange as promised but not the best Disney has to offer.

Matilda, The Musical, was decent, if you can cope with lots of kids singing. Think Annie with nastier Roald Dahl characters. Not that they were overly nasty in this movie. Sure the headmistress was "evil" (Emma Thompson) and Matilda's parents didn't care for her at all, but, otherwise everyone else was pretty nice.

Big Trouble in Little China: It's gonzo and some insanely good action and great quotes. The plot is a lot more comprehensible than what some folks make it out to be, but it's mostly window dressing for the ass-kicking action.

Just watched it. Really good. Was a little disappointed for the first few minutes, when I thought it was going to be badly animated.
