There is no difference between any of them that I can tell. At this point just go with writing all the names down on pieces of paper and drawing them out of a hat

Yeah. Just draw them out of a hat. You could close your eyes and randomly pick one. Would make no difference.

Yeah, I think for a lot of these we've got nothing but their names.

Well out of all of them, the USS Defiant is the one with history anyway. The same ship that disappeared in Tholian's Web and then reappeared in ENT. With the entire crew gone.

So out of all of them, Defiant has a definite end date for the crew.

The rest are interchangeable and they all can have whatever history you want.
