Favourite Sci Fi Short Stories

Post by Graham Kennedy »

I have to say, I do love a good sci fi short story, and it seems that there aren't that many around these days. I just reread my all time favourite, and one widely regarded as the best sci fi short stories ever written, Asimov's "The Last Question". Although the descriptions of computers are a bit dated, at least in the first part or two of the story, I think it still works. And the ending sends a chill up my spine, to be sure.

See what you think, the full text is here

And tell us what's your favourite sci fi short story?

I like many of Asimov's short stories - especially "In a Good Cause-" - but my faves have to be Philip K. Dick's "Waterspider," "Oh, To Be a Blobel!" or "The Minority Report."

How 'bout one set in Asimov's "Foundation" universe called "Imperial Conference"? And Johnny Pez did one set after the last of Asimov's sequel stories ("Foundation's Edge" and "Foundation & Earth").
