DS9 starship
DS9 starship
Okay, say they decided to have DS9 actually take place on a Cardassian starship instead of a space station, just an exercise in thought. What say the ship be?

Re: DS9 starship
So, you mean if DS9 was something completely other than DS9?

I like what you're thinking. While we're at it, what if Gilligan's Island wasn't on an Island, but just on a really inconvenient road that people didn't like driving down? What if Lost in Space wasn't in space, but lost in the back room of a Target store? What if Fargo took place in Miami?Mikey wrote:So, you mean if DS9 was something completely other than DS9?

You know, for a moment there I though I detected just a teeny tiny bit of sarcasm in that post.Bryan Moore wrote:I like what you're thinking. Just how exactly could Deep Space Nine be set on a ship? I mean, the premise of the show is that it's about a space station.Meste17 wrote:Okay, say they decided to have DS9 actually take place on a Cardassian starship instead of a space station, just an exercise in thought. What say the ship be?
It's like asking what if Scrubs was set on an aeroplane. Well then it would make no sense, because why the hell is your hospital on an aeroplane?

Because they've just picked up the cast of Gilligan's Island who were stranded at the end of the runway... DUH!Graham Kennedy wrote:Just how exactly could Deep Space Nine be set on a ship? It is doable. Maybe a medical hospital plane that goes to natural disaster or war torn areas bringing back the injured or the sick.Griffin wrote:I'd watch Scrubs on a Plane though.
But I don't see how you can make that funny though.

Not impossible, MASH managed to do it. A little humor in between the grim details, also provoked a great deal of thought.McAvoy wrote:It is doable. Meh. Nobody bothered making the actual Scrubs funny, and it seemed to do mediocre.

DITL Definition: "Meste Thread"
"A thread with a question so terrible or irrelevant that quickly goes off track into an infinitely more entertaining topic."
i.e."This devolved into a real Meste Thread. Graham asked what color would look better on the walls of his Coalition Battleship, Trump Orange or Boris Johnson Blonde, and before long, we were discussing the philosophical ramifications of uni-directional forward time travel"

So, a subtype of the TR-116 then.
