The legendary actor Sir John Hurt has died, aged 77. The Elephant Man star, whose career has spanned more than six decades, had recently battled pancreatic cancer. But in October 2015, he was given the all clear, reports the Mirror.
At the time he said: 'I am overjoyed, I am thrilled. It all looks great for the future, it's fantastic.'
In July that year he received his knighthood, and said he wished his parents had been alive to see him presented with the honour. He added: 'It does make one inordinately proud.'
The actor's website and Twitter accounts have both been closed down. Hurt is survived by his wife Anwen Rees-Myers. The couple had been married for 12 years.

I just came on here to post this. What an easy, natural talent he had. At least he had a couple years of being called "sir."
BTW, his Joseph Merrick (The Elephant Man) and Winston Smith (1984) were some of those rare performances that, once you've seen them, stay with you for the rest of your life. That, and the bit in Spaceballs.

I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast

I hope they bury him with an alien popping out of his chest...
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?
