Favourite Superweapon?
OK I'm no Star Wars expert so feel free to criticise but I just thought this up as a bit of fun for everyone.

Got to be the Death Star. No technobabble, no drawn-out destruction mechanism, just the biggest BFG in sci-fi.

Agreed, that is where my vote was cast too.

I almost went for the Death Star, but, coming from a relative outsider perspective towards these things, I really like the Eclipse. It just looks sexy.

I like the star forge. I only know it from the KotoR game and thought it was a clever idea. Its not just another BFG, Its just a huge industrial advantage. Added to that I think it is the most advanced bit of tech we ever see really. Along with a Dyson sphere I think its the height of technological achievement.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Death Star. Even without the superlaser it was extremely powerful. That and it is a simplistic design.

Simplistic by being a sphere, massivly complex by being a small moon.
I always thought the problem of gravity and lifts on the death star must have been horrible. Who ever solved that in universe deserves an award.

I'm with Teaos on this, I went with the Star Forge.

Re: Favourite Superweapon?
Well considering the tech of SW, solving natural gravity that the two Death Stars had, shouldn't be much of an issue.Teaos wrote:Simplistic by being a sphere, massivly complex by being a small moon.

Death Star. A giant gun. What more do you really need for a superweapon?

I think ultimately the Star Forge. I like how unsuperweaponish the superweapon is.

Re: Favourite Superweapon?
I argue for the World Devastator. Industrial like the Star Forge, but doesn't need the Force, and is self-replicating and redesigning as well.
The other option for planetary destruction would be the Galaxy Gun. A planetkiller that can kill a world from anywhere in the galaxy, or even outside the galaxy. You might have a fleet that can kill the Deathstar so it can't pop in and blast the planet, but the Galaxy Gun means you have to search the whole Galaxy for it, or even outside the Galaxy.

Yet so far no one has voted for either.

Re: Favourite Superweapon?
World devestator is nice and probably more realistic than the Star Forge... but the star forge is so much cooler. And everyone who designs super weapons know coolness is at least 80% of the design.

The World Devastator is cool... but has the problem of being from 'Dark Empire'.
