TOS rpg...
I can't seem to jam this into the RPG section so will have to wedge it here a while so apologies to the moderators.
Just wondering if anyone fancies doing a TOS era rpg maybe on board a Constitution or Miranda class...it's the generation of the swishing doors and I fancy being a Tellarite!

Re: TOS rpg...
A single ship might be tough, since we don't seem to have the highest number of our Sim/RP members about right now. What about multiple ships so each person could field their own ideas and then multiple people could come together for bigger stories?

Re: TOS rpg...
Any limits on ship capabilities, or should we go with GM determined? I assume we're not allowed to request a Universe class Mass Conveyor.
Of course with that ship you'll get the famous quote:
"Set course for the planet."
"Sir, we'll have to overcharge the engines to catch up."
"Make it so."
You also have:
"We have to protect the area until the Federation gets a starbase there."
"Toss two inside, I've got plenty of room in the forward bay."
(It's wider than DS9)

Ah, the Ad-Mech Uni. Drops whole prefab colony Hives and the PDFs to go with it. If we are going to look at Imperial ships then the Retribution is the way to go for me. I like the ship of the line ideal, so in keeping with that I'm of course going for the Excelsior.

Battle barge for me! Sure, it's not an Ark Mechanicus or anything, but think of the diplomatic potential!
"Sir, they seem disinclined to sign the treaty."
"Perhaps they'd like to negotiate with an array of magma bombs?"

Re: TOS rpg...
Well I'm totally lost now never having played Battlefleet Gothic beyond what was in the box and a few traded Eldar and Ork fleets.

Bombardment Cannon more likely, the Battle Barges don't handle well to close to atmo. Strike Cruisers however... bombs will passing over head close enough to wave.Mikey wrote:Battle barge for me! Sure, it's not an Ark Mechanicus or anything, but think of the diplomatic potential!

No worries, so give us some details as to how this will go down?Granitehewer wrote:Well I'm totally lost now never having played Battlefleet Gothic beyond what was in the box and a few traded Eldar and Ork fleets.

Re: TOS rpg...
Well for starters are we all stuck on one ship or do we get our own? Is it Series or Movie Era? Canon ships only or do you have a list of acceptable?

Re: TOS rpg...
I was thinking each player a captain on his own vessel, setting it just after the events of The Undiscovered Country so dealing with it's aftermath effects on say the Romulans, Gorn and Tholians, as for canon only the UFP ships as we've too little to go on with the rest really.

I thought bombardment cannons fire magma bombs. Oh well, I'm not washing with barbecue sauce and wading into the shark tank of WH40k fluff canon right now.Deepcrush wrote:Bombardment Cannon more likely, the Battle Barges don't handle well to close to atmo. Sounds good, sort of a blank canvas.Granitehewer wrote:I was thinking each player a captain on his own vessel, setting it just after the events of The Undiscovered Country so dealing with it's aftermath effects on say the Romulans, Gorn and Tholians, as for canon only the UFP ships as we've too little to go on with the rest really.

The blank canvas effect is good. I like the time period too. Allows for some backwater fun on the edge of space.
