Final beta 3

Post by IanKennedy »

OK, taking the clutter factor into account and looking at other comments, whilst still maintaining the basic idea of the redesign, here is the final beta test, version 3 :

http://www.ditl.org/index4.php

Switching the orange buttons to the top has in my opinion helped a lot with the clutter as it separates the quick links from the blue buttons. It also goes along with the thought that they are more important and thus should be listed first. Finally, right justifying the quick links and removing the text also helps with the separation, at least on larger resolutions.

Thoughts, please?

Very good. I like the interface design. It fits in really well with SF control consoles. Thumbs up!

Seems good to me.

Definitely better than the previous ones. Splitting the blue buttons helped.

Well, beta 3 has now become the standard interface for the DITL. Thank for all your useful comments on the various designs that we went through. Having lived with beta 3 for about 3 weeks now I really like it and really miss it when I forget to put the correct url in.

Anyone who wants to still use the old interface can still do so by accessing the following url, however, I would recommend trying the new style for at least four or five days before you give up on it. anyway the old style url is:

Not bad... :)

My only complaint now is that the buttons at the very top like the cap contest are a little hard to read. Is there anyway you could make them a little larger or make the letters pop a little more. You can see if you look at it but not at a glance like you can with the others.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Yes, we had to take the button hight down a little for those buttons to make them fit. I can look at them a little more over the next week or so.

Updated to standard size buttons. Make a big difference without using any more screen space.

Gotta say, that already looks better.

I agree. I like it a lot.
