Well, we have Enterprise to thank for that. We have two powers with transporter capability, so thinking that hand to hand combat engagements won't happen doesn't make much sense to me. Plus, if the Romulans use the Remans as personal canon fodder aka shock troops, then they'd be able to take prisoners, capture ships, conduct raids, so on and so forth. The timeline is already messed up as far as Balance of Terror is concerned, as we're not using nuclear weapons, and they have cloak tech

Actually.........we could place this in the Abramsverse I suppose, and give ourselves more room to wiggle with.

I don't see why we couldn't have nukes as well. We could just say it's a logistical thing; the supply of photonic torpedoes is limited because of the war.
There is only one way of avoiding the war – that is the overthrow of this society. However, as we are too weak for this task, the war is inevitable. -L. Trotsky, 1939

I was thinking that myself; we'd have a small stock of spatial torps as backup.

Yep - depending on where you read, they are either fission or fusion warheads.

Fair enough. Then maybe we should only have a limited supply of PTs as shortages are common during wartime.

Perhaps 20 or so PTs and 60 STs?

I'd imagine the PTs would go moreso to the smaller ships, as the Daedalus can make up the loss of torpedo firepower with these new "lasers" 8)

For me, the workload is ramped up for the next 3 weeks until the semester ends so it is unlikely I'll be able to set anything up with this before the third week of December. Over winter break I will endeavor to get something together for both this and Daystrom.

Give me a week or so and I'll try and come up with a "story so far/mission brief" piece. Sound good?

Sure thing.

Did you guys want me to set up a backstory and a resolution like in Daystrom, then get it ready for you to take over and manage?

I suppose if you'd like. I'm not quite sure how to resolve it, if you have ideas feel free!
